On behalf of the organizing committee, I want to thank the Ph.D. alumni and former ARE staff who returned to Davis to make the 50^th Anniversary celebration of our Ph.D. program a wonderful event. It was so nice to renew acquaintances and in some cases meet for the first time alumni that were among the pioneers of the program. Our current students benefited greatly from the opportunity to meet and interact with so many of you.
